TIP: Do you know how to correctly jump start a vehicle? Many an engine computer and alternator have been fried due to incorrectly applying jump leads which can be very costly!

When jump starting always use surge protected jumper leads. First, apply the red positive cable to the positive terminal on the flat battery, then to the positive terminal of the good battery. Next apply the black cable to the engine block or negative terminal of the flat battery and then to the negative terminal on the good battery. Start the engine on the jump vehicle and run for approx 5 minutes and then start the flat vehicle. Run both for 5 to 10 minutes then turn both vehicles off. Remove jump leads in reverse order.

Alarms 

We supply and install top of the range Mongoose car alarms and have a range of different units to suit your budget and security requirements. These products have a warranty period between 3 and 5 years depending on the unit. When we professionally install these units we are able to offer this same warranty on the installation as well giving you greater peace of mind when leaving your vehicle. We have in stock a range of Mongoose remote controls and can supply most other common brand remotes and code to suit.

Diagnostics 

Is there a warning light lit up on your dash? Our modern vehicles now have an array of electronic control units to control everything from fuel injection to air conditioning and airbags. The most common warning lights to display on your dash indicating a fault are the Engine check light, ABS (Anti lock braking System) and SRS ( Supplementary Restraint System) systems. The ABS and SRS systems are designed to reduce serious injury by improving vehicle handling and reducing impact in an accident. When a fault occurs in these systems you will be unable to get a Warrant of Fitness. We use the latest diagnostic scan tools and expert diagnostic skills to identify and repair these faults as required.

Starter Alternator & Distributors 

The Starter, Alternator and Distributor are important components in the starting of your vehicle, charging of your battery, and distribution of spark to fire the engine. When a fault occurs in any one of these components it can lead to trouble starting your vehicle or sudden breakdown. We can quickly check and diagnose faults within these units on or off your vehicle and can repair or replace using parts to suit your budget.

Stereos 

We can supply and install a large range of stereos such as Panasonic, Sony, JVC, Pioneer and Alpine including speakers and other audio equipment. We can assist with any repair concerns.

Central Locking

Central locking is a convenient way to open and close all your doors in your vehicle simultaneously. We can install central locking kits to upgrade your vehicle and can diagnose and repair faults in existing central locking systems.

Electric windows

Electric windows are great when they are working and frustrating when they suddenly stop and your window is stuck down in the pouring rain! We can quickly secure windows up and can diagnose and repair electric window faults.

Breakdown diagnosis and repair

It is extremely frustrating when your vehicle suddenly breaks down and usually at the most inopportune moment! We have a mobile breakdown service available on request. If we can not repair your vehicle on site we can quickly organize towage of your vehicle to our workshop for repair.

Air conditioning

Air conditioning not cold enough? Bad odour from the vents? Within your vehicle’s air conditioning system are different filters to clean incoming air into the cabin of the vehicle and moisture filters to prevent damage and corrosion of the refrigeration system. It is recommended these are changed every 2 years to ensure the best performance and longevity of the system. We can change these filters as required and can diagnose and repair faults within these systems from a basic air conditioning re-gas to compressor and component replacements.

Reversing cameras and sonars

How safe is your vehicle when reversing? In New Zealand we have the highest rate of driveway accidents and a quarter of all workplace accidents involve a reversing vehicle. Reversing Cameras and sonar kits improve visibility and awareness when reversing warning you when an object is close by. These can save lives and are great for parking in tight spots.
